Karen L. Wishnev is an Associate in Fuller Jenkins’ San Diego office. She joined the firm in 2004.

Since joining Fuller Jenkins, Ms. Wishnev has focused her Litigation practice on bringing and defending complex claims and Class Actions involving issues as varied as Construction Defects, Wage Hour and the Unruh Civil Rights Act. Ms. Wishnev also defends a wide variety of Workers’ Compensation claims.

Along with Craig D. Fuller, Ms Wishnev successfully obtained a non suit in an Employment Discrimination claim brought in Los Angeles Superior Court against a Southern California restaurant chain. The Court of Appeal upheld the decision.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Wishnev practiced General Business and Insurance Defense Litigation for a large New Orleans law firm. Since coming to California, she has practiced General Business Litigation, Bankruptcy Litigation and Administration and Real Estate and Foreclosure Litigation on behalf of numerous national and international banks and financial institutions.

Ms. Wishnev graduated, Cum Laude, from Tulane Law School in 1997, where she served on the Editorial Board of the Tulane International and Comparative Law Journal. Ms. Wishnev holds an undergraduate degree in English from Rice University in Houston, Texas and a Maîtrise de Lettres in French Literature from the Université de Paris II, St. Denis, France, which is the equivalent of a Master’s Degree.

Prior to beginning her career as an Attorney, Ms. Wishnev worked in the French perfume industry in New York City, taught English to French business people in Paris, and translated business and legal texts from French into English.

Ms. Wishnev is admitted to practice law in California and Louisiana. She is admitted to practice before the Federal District Courts of California and Louisiana and in all Courts of the State of California and Louisiana.

  • bankruptcy case summaries in the 1998 Wiley Bankruptcy Update (Aspen Law and Business 1998);
  • translation of a French law review article, European Community Sources of French Contract Law, 5 Tul.J. Int’l & Comp.L. 85 (1997);
  • a student comment, Jain v. Courier de Mere: The Seventh Circuit Compels Arbitration for Two Non-U.S. Citizens, 4 Tul.J.Int’l & Comp.L. 359 (1996);
  • co-author of a law review article, State Statutes Dealing With HIV & AIDS: A Comprehensive State-By-State Summary, 5 Tul.J.Law & Sexuality 1 (1996).

Ms. Wishnev has run the Carlsbad and America’s Finest City half-marathons. She hiked to Kala Patar, a peak in the Nepalese Himalayas at an altitude in excess of 18,000 feet.
